Lagos APC Declares No Automatic Tickets for 2027 Elections

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, declared on Thursday that no member will receive an automatic ticket for the upcoming 2027 general elections. This announcement followed the party's national convention, where new officers were elected across various levels.

Ojelabi clarified that every position within the party is open to interested members, and the selection of candidates will adhere to the processes established by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Electoral Act. The party plans to utilize direct primaries as the primary method for choosing candidates.

Ojelabi also warned that any money paid by aspirants during the nomination process will not be refunded, regardless of the outcome. He assured party members that the process will be fair and transparent, and he encouraged women to participate, promising necessary support for female aspirants.

Ojelabi urged members to remain calm and behave appropriately while awaiting official guidelines from the party's national leadership.
