Abdullahi Sule Endorses Wadada Aliyu for Senate Seat

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has publicly endorsed Wadada Aliyu as the preferred candidate for the Nasarawa West senatorial district, following the death of incumbent Senator Goddiya Akwashiki. This endorsement was made during a meeting with stakeholders from the northern zone of the state.

The meeting aimed to discuss the vacant senatorial seat and the upcoming governorship primaries. While the majority supported Wadada's candidacy, there was notable dissent from former governor Tanko Al-Makura, who has expressed opposition to Sule's choice.

Al-Makura, who served two terms from 2011 to 2019, currently holds the position of North Central Zone Coordinator for the Renew Hope Ambassador. The meeting also addressed the mode of selecting the party's flag bearer, opting for direct primaries as per the new electoral law.

Despite the consensus on Wadada, there are indications of internal party disagreements, particularly from former Inspector General of Police Muhammadu Abubakar Adamu, who plans to contest the governorship.
