Tinubu: Security Essential for Nigeria's Economic Growth

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu addressed the graduation ceremony of participants from the National Defence College Course 34 in Abuja, where 103 participants received certificates, including 33 Nigerian Army officers, 20 Nigerian Navy officers, nine Nigerian Air Force officers, four Nigeria Police Force members, 17 officials from various ministries, and 20 international participants. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu asserted that meaningful economic growth in Nigeria is contingent upon the security of lives and property.

He committed to enhancing the capabilities of the Armed Forces and security agencies to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, piracy, and organized crime. Tinubu linked security to economic opportunities, stating that restoring security must be followed by initiatives that enable citizens to work and trade.

He also highlighted the importance of productive economies in Africa for long-term security and called for industrialization through the African Continental Free Trade Area to promote inclusive growth.
