Enugu FCC Commissioner Urges Youths to Seek Jobs

Peter Eze, the Federal Character Commission Commissioner representing Enugu State, addressed youths on Thursday at the Peter Eze Youth Connect workshop held at the International Conference Centre in Enugu. The workshop, themed “Beyond Quotas: Unlocking Opportunities for Enugu Youths Through the Federal Character Commission,” aimed to encourage qualified applicants to pursue Federal Government jobs without the need for political connections.

Eze highlighted the misinformation that federal jobs are pre-allocated before advertisements, which discourages many from applying. He stated that applicants must actively seek opportunities and not disqualify themselves due to unfounded fears.

Eze reiterated that the FCC is responsible for promoting equitable representation in federal institutions and noted the existence of over 700 federal entities offering employment. He warned against middlemen demanding payments for jobs and announced that five participants would receive scholarships for studies abroad.

Eze urged youths to gather information, prepare, and compete for opportunities without believing they need a godfather to succeed.
