PDP's Idika Defends Odii's Candidacy for Ebonyi Governorship

Mazi Mose Idika, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), responded to calls from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii to withdraw from the 2027 Ebonyi governorship race. Idika asserted that there are no constitutional provisions that prevent any qualified citizen from seeking office, emphasizing that the historical context of governorship contests in Ebonyi State has varied across senatorial districts.

He dismissed the notion of a zoning system as imaginary and stated that the legitimacy of candidates should be determined by the electorate through the ballot box. Idika also expressed confidence in Odii's ability to provide an alternative vision for the state's economic growth and development, highlighting Odii's commitment to improving the welfare of the Ebonyi people.

He further supported Governor Francis Nwifuru's re-election bid, citing the administration's achievements.
