FRSC Launches Contactless Driver's License System Nationwide for Instant Issuance

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nigeria has introduced a contactless biometric driver's license system to streamline the licensing process and enhance road safety. The system, utilizing advanced fingerprint technology, allows for instant issuance of licenses, reducing the backlog of 800,000 unprocessed licenses by half.

FRSC plans to double its daily license printing capacity to clear existing backlogs and integrate the system with other driving-related services. The initiative marks a significant reform in Nigeria's transport system towards digitalization and efficiency.
