Saraki Calls for Unity in PDP Ahead of 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President, called for unity among members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State as they prepare for the 2027 general elections. Saraki hosted Senator Saliu Mustapha, who recently resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the PDP, and Dr Baba Jiya Kolo, the PDP Kwara North Senatorial candidate, at his residence in Ilorin.

Saraki described their decision to join the PDP as a courageous step towards advancing Kwara State. He urged party members to set aside past divisions, stating, “There is no more G1 or G2; today, we belong to one big family.” Saraki emphasized the importance of collective action against the APC administration led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Senator Mustapha expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to work with the PDP to reclaim political power for the people of Kwara. Dr Baba Jiya Kolo has also emerged as the PDP senatorial candidate for Kwara North.
