Taraba State to Recruit Over 4,000 Civil Servants

The Taraba State Government, under the leadership of Governor Agbu Kefa, is set to recruit over 4,000 personnel into its civil service as part of efforts to permanently address the issue of ghost workers within the workforce. Barr Zainabu Usman, during a press briefing in Jalingo, disclosed that the recruitment plan includes 3,000 workers who have passed through a screening committee.

Additionally, the state government has approved the recruitment of another 1,500 fresh civil servants, bringing the total number of prospective employees to 4,687. The recruitment process will be completed once necessary formalities are concluded.

Dr. Ahm Hamidu Kara, head of civil service, expressed appreciation for the governor's decision, which aims to reintegrate affected workers and address challenges faced during the verification exercise.

The announcement follows an executive council meeting chaired by the governor on Tuesday, May 26.
