4,000 Applicants Compete for 550 Nursing Jobs in Taraba

The Taraba State Health Service Management Board has opened an online recruitment portal for 550 nursing and midwifery positions, approved by the state government. This initiative attracted around 4,000 applicants within a short period, significantly exceeding the available positions.

Dr. Garba Danjuma, the executive secretary of the board, disclosed that the recruitment exercise is competitive and aims to ensure that qualified candidates are selected based on merit.

Budiya Buma, the Taraba State Commissioner for Health, reiterated Governor Agbu Kefa's commitment to revitalizing the health sector and improving healthcare delivery across the state. Dr.

Ebenez Apak, chairman of the board, explained that the screening and interview process is expected to last two to three days, focusing primarily on recruiting nurses and midwives. Successful candidates will be recommended for employment, and the board remains committed to staff welfare and career progression, including regular promotions.
