Taraba Governor Approves Recruitment of 550 Health Workers

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has initiated a recruitment exercise to employ 550 health personnel, aimed at addressing the persistent shortage of healthcare workers in the state. This decision has been commended by various stakeholders, including Mr.

Aliyu Amo, who noted that the governor's actions represent a bold step in improving the health sector, which has faced challenges for the past five years. The recruitment is part of a broader strategy to enhance healthcare service delivery, with Dr.

Bodiya Buma appointed as Commissioner for Health and Dr. Ebenez Apak as Chairman of the Health Services Management Board.

Dr. Garba Danjuma, the Executive Secretary of the Health Services Management Board, explained that the recruitment exercise is specifically designed to fill gaps in nursing and midwifery personnel.

The governor's administration has also introduced various reforms, including the renovation of healthcare facilities and the provision of modern medical equipment, urging residents to support these efforts for the development of the health sector.
