NRS Denies Claims of New Vehicle Tax in Nigeria

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has issued a statement refuting claims of a new vehicle tax set to take effect on July 1. Mr.

Dare Adekambi, the special adviser to the NRS chairman, Dr. Zach Adedeji, emphasized that the viral infographic circulating online is false and misleading.

The infographic suggested unspecified vehicle tax rates for private, commercial, and corporate vehicles, but it lacked an identifiable author and was not approved by any official agency. Adekambi advised the public to disregard the misleading information and to consult the official NRS website and social media platforms for accurate updates regarding tax policies.

He reiterated that the federal government has not introduced any new vehicle tax and encouraged citizens to rely on verified government channels for information.
