Mutfwang Declares No Opposition for 2027 Elections in Plateau

On Tuesday, Governor Mutfwang of Plateau State declared that there would be no opposition party in the state for the upcoming 2027 general elections, indicating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will compete among its own members. Mutfwang expressed confidence in the party's dominance in Plateau ahead of the polls and called for unity and reconciliation within the APC.

He acknowledged existing issues that require attention and assured members that their concerns would be addressed amicably. Additionally, Mutfwang congratulated Rufu Batur, a member of the state executive committee, and urged loyalty to the party's leadership.

He announced a statewide membership drive aimed at recruiting at least ten new members from every registered member, emphasizing that electoral success depends on a robust party structure and effective grassroots mobilization. Batur highlighted the party's achievements during his previous tenure, which included electing three senators, 23 members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, and 325 councillors on the APC platform.
