Nollywood Actor Musiliu Dasofunjo Reveals Cancer Battle

Musiliu Dasofunjo, a veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor popularly known as Baba Johunomi, has publicly disclosed his battle with prostate cancer. He shared his diagnosis in a video posted by actor Kunle Afod on Facebook, just days after the Nollywood community mourned the death of fellow actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, who died following a battle with stage-four cancer.

Dasofunjo emphasized the importance of recognizing early warning signs, stating that he first noticed a change in his urine stream, which he initially dismissed. He explained that the symptoms worsened, leading to significant difficulty in urination before he sought medical help.

Despite his apprehension about undergoing a recommended biopsy procedure, Dasofunjo chose to share his experience to encourage others to be vigilant about their health. His announcement comes at a time when the industry is reflecting on cancer awareness and the challenges faced by aging Nollywood veterans, especially following Ogogo's recent passing.
