North Central APC Urges Tinubu to Vet Convention Candidates

The North Central APC Forum has formally requested President Bola Tinubu to oversee the vetting process for candidates ahead of the APC national convention, which is set to take place on March 27-28, 2026. In a statement signed by the forum's chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the group stressed the importance of electing credible individuals with proven track records to fill positions in the National Working Committee (NWC).

The forum highlighted that the leadership of the APC must be capable and experienced, particularly given the recent influx of several opposition governors into the party. They urged Tinubu to ensure that the vetting process leads to the election of distinguished political leaders who prioritize Nigeria's interests above personal or religious affiliations.

The forum also cautioned against selecting candidates based solely on academic qualifications, emphasizing the need for practical political experience and the ability to deliver results.
