Usman Okai-Austin Advocates Development Over Political Power in Northern Nigeria

Political activist youth leader, Usman Okai-Austin, emphasized the need for development over political power in the North, citing the failure of northern leaders to address poverty and insecurity despite holding power for years. He highlighted the importance of using political power to alleviate poverty and improve healthcare and education in the region.

Okai-Austin praised former President Goodluck Jonathan for his efforts in modernizing the Almajiri school system in the North. He criticized the destruction of these schools under the current administration.

The activist also rejected claims of northern marginalization. The call for prioritizing development over political power in the North is gaining attention ahead of the 2023 elections.
