Focus On Solving Killings In Benue, Not Insecurity In North – Sowunmi Slams David Mark

Otunba Segun Sowunmi, former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar's 2023 presidential campaign, criticized former Senate President David Mark for suggesting that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could solve the insecurity challenges in the North. Mark, who is the interim National Chairman of the ADC, had mentioned that the party, which includes prominent members like Atiku and Rotimi Amaechi, would address issues like insecurity, hunger, and poverty if voted into power in 2023.

Sowunmi, in response, advised Mark to focus on resolving the killings in Benue State, his country home, instead of dreaming of a coalition party to tackle insecurity in the North. He expressed embarrassment over Mark's statement and questioned his experience in politics, suggesting that the President should concentrate on addressing the current issues rather than joining a coalition.

Sowunmi also criticized the idea of political leaders constantly switching parties based on personal ambition, lack of capacity, and confusion.
