Northern Christian Leaders Criticize Wike's Remarks

Northern Christian leaders, represented by Rev. Joseph Hayab, chairman of the Northern Christian Association, have publicly criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his comments regarding land administration issues at Jabi Lake in Abuja. The association expressed that Wike's remarks could be seen as disrespectful to God and offensive to public sensibilities.

They highlighted that while government officials have constitutional powers to administer land, they should exercise humility and restraint, particularly in sensitive matters involving religious beliefs. The criticism follows a viral video showing a female cleric kneeling before Wike, pleading for him to reconsider proposed developments around Jabi Lake.

Wike's emotional response included a statement that even God would not yield to pressure. The Northern Christian Association urged political office holders to be cautious in their public communications to avoid deepening tensions and provoking unnecessary controversy.
