Wike Rejects Pastor Omakwu's Appeal on Jabi Lake Development

On Wednesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), firmly rejected an appeal made by Pastor Sarah Omakwu of the Family Worship Centre concerning the development of the Jabi Lake recreational area. In a video shared on Instagram, Pastor Omakwu was seen kneeling in prayer, urging the FCT administration not to allocate the Jabi Lake area for private development.

Wike responded during a monthly press briefing in Abuja, stating that he would not allow emotional influences to affect his official duties. He emphasized that while he understands that not everyone may be happy with government decisions, he must remain focused on governance.

Wike clarified that the site had previously been allocated to a company for the development of entertainment facilities, which he noted had deteriorated. He reiterated that the Jabi Lake area would not be turned into a private property.
