Abba Yusuf Promises Northern Support for Tinubu's 2027 Bid

On Saturday, during the inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign office in Abuja, Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Yusuf assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the support of Northern Nigeria for his re-election in the 2027 general elections. Governor Yusuf expressed confidence that the North would back President Tinubu's second-term ambition, emphasizing that Kano, as the leading state with the highest number of votes in Northern Nigeria, would lead all states to victory for the President.

The A4A movement is designed to mobilize support across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, with former Minister of Defense Badaru Abubakar serving as the national coordinator. Vice President Kashim Shettima also spoke at the event, highlighting the need for political support to be accompanied by accountability and good governance, while addressing the economic challenges facing citizens.
