Senators from North and South Mourn Barinada Mpigi

Senators across Northern and Southern Nigeria have expressed their condolences following the death of Barinada Mpigi, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday during a prolonged illness. Mpigi represented the River South East Senatorial District and was a member of the Senate since 2019.

In total, 64 senators sent condolence messages regarding his demise. The chairmen of the Northern and Southern Senators Forums issued statements, with Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the chairman of the Southern Senators Forum, describing Mpigi's death as a profound loss for both the Senate and the nation.

He was remembered for his commitment, patriotism, and integrity, having played an active role in the forum's activities. Similarly, Abdulaziz Musa Yar Adua, chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, expressed sadness over Mpigi's passing, noting that he embodied the spirit of bridging divides and fostering dialogue among communities.
