Northern States Collaborate to Combat Insecurity

On March 17, 2026, a high-level dialogue convened in Plateau State aimed at uniting northern states in Nigeria against cross-border insecurity. The event, organized by OSPR and led by Amina Wali, focused on strengthening inter-state collaboration to tackle security challenges.

The Plateau State Peacebuilding Agency provided a platform for participants to share experiences and develop coordinated strategies. A statement was signed to enhance sub-national coordination and improve early warning systems.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote locally driven responses to evolving threats, with a goal to train 300 participants across the North West and North Central regions. Chris Ngwodo, Director General of OSPR, emphasized the importance of cross-government coordination, stating that no single tier of government can address today's security challenges alone.

Juli Sanda, Director General of PSPBA, called for expanded partnerships to scale successful interventions at the community level.
