Jang and Lalong Unite to Tackle Plateau Security Issues

Former governors of Plateau State, Jonah Jang and Simon Lalong, have announced their intention to unite in response to escalating security challenges in the region. Their commitment was expressed during President Bola Tinubu's visit to the North Central State, which followed a security breach on Sunday that resulted in the deaths of 28 individuals in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, and left several others injured.

Jang described the incident as a significant security breach and pledged to work collaboratively with Lalong to tackle the menace threatening the state. They believe that unity among leaders is crucial to combatting the insecurity that could destabilize the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Lalong, who currently serves as a senator representing Plateau South, highlighted the ongoing security challenges faced by the state, which have persisted since his tenure as governor. Both leaders called for a special session to discuss these issues proactively and ensure peace in Plateau State.
