Northern Youth Chiefs Call for Peace and Federal Support

The Northern Traditional Youth Chiefs in Southern Nigeria, represented by their president, Sarkin Samarin, have issued a statement urging for peaceful coexistence and federal intervention to address the challenges faced by northern residents living in southern states. The council, which encompasses representatives from 17 southern states, emphasizes the need for traditional rulers and community leaders to promote peace and unity.

They plan to organize a series of stakeholder meetings aimed at enhancing cooperation among northern communities in host states, focusing on political inclusion, economic opportunities, and social harmony. Dr.

Sani Salisu Danmuttaqa, a member of the council, highlighted the difficulties faced by northern residents in accessing government benefits and called for the federal government to address these concerns. The council also urged youth to avoid drug abuse and divisive politics, advocating instead for constructive engagement to foster national development.

They reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and stressed the importance of collective responsibility in building a stronger Nigeria.
