NOSC Opens Submissions for Nigeria's 99th Oscars Entry

The Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) has announced the opening of submissions for Nigeria's official entry to the 99th Academy Awards in the International Feature Film category. The Academy-approved committee, led by Vanessa Obioha, invited Nigerian filmmakers, producers, and authorized rights holders with eligible feature films to submit their works for consideration.

This initiative aims to showcase the creativity, diversity, and excellence of Nigerian storytelling on a global cinematic platform. Submissions will close on August 31, 2026.

The NOSC emphasized the importance of compliance with the eligibility requirements set by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the NOSC submission guidelines. Interested entrants can find submission forms and guidelines on the NOSC website.

The NOSC is responsible for selecting and submitting Nigeria's official entry in the International Feature Film category, having participated in this race since 2019. Nigeria's most recent submission was the Hausa-language film ‘Mai Martaba,’ which represented the country at the 97th Academy Awards but did not receive a nomination.
