Femi Odugbemi conducted a masterclass for members of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) during the Guild’s National Awards Week, focusing on the future of Nollywood. He highlighted the industry's remarkable achievements over the past three decades, including the establishment of a film industry characterized by efficiency, rapid production, and market reach.

Despite advancements in technology and budgets, Odugbemi questioned whether these improvements have led to more artistically distinctive films, asserting that creative decisions are what truly make films memorable. He emphasized the need for a new revolution in Nollywood that prioritizes vision, aesthetics, and authorship, urging directors to take on a more significant role in shaping the cinematic experience.

Odugbemi posed critical questions that directors should consider when making creative decisions, stressing that filmmaking must balance collaboration with a distinctive creative perspective.
