Noskova Advances to First Wimbledon Semi-Final

Linda Noskova, the ninth seed from the Czech Republic, achieved a significant milestone by reaching her first Wimbledon semi-final on Wednesday. She secured her place in the last four with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Belgium's Elis Mertens.

The match lasted one hour and 50 minutes under warm conditions, with temperatures reaching 21 degrees Celsius. The 21-year-old Noskova will now face Ukrainian 12th seed Marta Kostyuk in the semi-finals.

This marks her second Grand Slam quarter-final appearance, following her run to the quarter-finals at the 2024 Australian Open. Noskova's impressive form on grass was highlighted by her previous victory at the Berlin Open, her first title on this surface.

She also eliminated former Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the last 16. Noskova expressed her excitement about playing on such a significant stage, acknowledging some nerves but ultimately enjoying the match.
