Lagos Legion Supports Over 600 Widows with Aid

On Tuesday, during the Lagos Legion Day celebration at the Multi-Agency Office Complex Hall in Oshodi, over 600 widows received palliative support from the Lagos State Council of the Nigerian Legion. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu distributed essential items, including 500 bags of 25kg rice, educational materials, and cash gifts, aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by these widows, particularly those of fallen military heroes.

The event was praised by representatives from the Military Widows Association (MFHA) and the Military Widows Association (MIWA), who expressed gratitude for the support. Mr.

Akeem Wolimoh, the Lagos Legion Council Chairman, emphasized the importance of ensuring that aid reaches physically challenged military personnel and elderly veterans. The council also pledged to support 25 students annually with financial assistance.

The initiative aims to foster camaraderie among military veterans and promote social harmony within the community.
