Sanwo-Olu Confirms No Pension Arrears in Lagos State

On Monday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State stated that the state has no outstanding pension arrears, highlighting the administration's dedication to the welfare and dignity of retirees. During a visit from the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) team, led by Executive Secretary Tolulop Odunaiya, Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the state has settled all pension obligations over the past three years, ensuring that no pension claims remain unpaid.

He assured that retirees who complete their documentation will receive their pensions within two to three months after leaving service. Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the administration's commitment to treating retirees with the dignity they deserve and pledged to continue collaborating with PTAD to improve the welfare of pensioners in Lagos State.

Odunaiya noted that nearly 200,000 pensioners are part of the defined benefit scheme nationwide, and she called for continued cooperation with the state government to enhance the pension system.
