Lagos State disburses N1bn pension to 543 retirees, reaffirming commitment to welfare

The Lagos State government recently distributed N1 billion in pension funds to 543 retirees as part of its commitment to ensuring the welfare and financial security of retired public servants. The disbursement ceremony, held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, Ikeja, saw the presentation of retirement benefit bond certificates to the retirees.

Olabode Agoro, the Head of Service, reiterated the government's pledge to continue honoring the contributions of public servants. The Lagos State Pension Commission, represented by Director-General Babalola Obilana, ensured the timely processing of retirement benefits, with each retiree receiving an average of N1,014,835.82.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the administration's focus on retiree welfare. The event also emphasized the state's transparent pension system, aimed at eliminating uncertainties and delays in benefit payments.
