Tinubu Calls on Diaspora Health Workers to Return Home

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu appealed to Nigerian medical professionals in the diaspora to return home and contribute to national development during a meeting with the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations at the State House in Abuja. Led by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Director-General of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, the delegation was encouraged by Tinubu to persuade their colleagues abroad to return.

Drawing from his own experiences in the United States, he stated, “There’s nowhere like home,” and highlighted the invaluable contributions of diaspora doctors in building a stronger future for Nigeria. Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration's commitment to combating poverty and improving the welfare of Nigerians, stating, “Poverty is not acceptable.

We won’t accept it.” He discussed Nigeria's evolving political system and referenced the 2026 FIFA World Cup as an example of unity. Tinubu's remarks underscored the importance of diaspora engagement in national development and the hope for a better future for Nigeria.
