NPFL Suspends Kennedy Boboye for 17 Matches, Fines Club

Kennedy Boboye, the head coach of Bendel Insurance, has been handed a 17-match suspension and fined 2 million Naira by the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for gross misconduct following a 2-2 draw against Plateau United. The NPFL ruled that Boboye acted improperly towards match officials, violating principles of fair play and discipline.

Additionally, Bendel Insurance was fined 2 million Naira for failing to provide adequate security during the match, which included a 1 million Naira fine for unsporting behavior that could bring the game into disrepute. The club's inability to ensure the safety of match officials led to a 40-minute delay in the final whistle.

As a result of these penalties, Bendel Insurance will play their next three home games behind closed doors.
