EuroMatch-NPFL Warns Clubs Against Disparaging Comments

Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, the Chief Operating Officer of EuroMatch-NPFL, has reminded all clubs of acceptable standards for expressing grievances related to match officiating. This advisory aims to protect the league's brand and maintain partnership interests.

The memo specifically addresses disparaging public comments, referencing a video interview featuring Jeffery Buter, the coach of Sporting Lagos FC, who questioned the integrity of the referee following a Match-day 6 encounter against Barau FC in Lagos. Abdulrahman emphasized the importance of using official channels for grievances and cited Appendix B, Rule 7, and Section A, Rule 5.5.2 of the NPFL Framework and Rules 2026/2027, which prohibit public criticism of the league and its officials.

He warned that any further breaches would result in disciplinary action in accordance with the NPFL Framework and Rules.
