NFF Appoints Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman as NPFL COO

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appointed Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman as the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on the same day the new season commenced. The season kicked off with a match at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan, featuring Shooting Stars, who represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup, against newly-promoted Inter Lagos FC.

Dr Abdulrahaman, who holds a doctorate in sports administration, brings extensive experience in football organization and administration, having worked across various leagues. His appointment follows a directive issued on Thursday, August 27, by NFF’s interim General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, which required all Board Members and Chief Executive Officers of various leagues, as well as Chief Operating Officers not part of NFF staff, to vacate their positions.

Abdulrahaman's appointment is effective immediately.
