NPFL Secures $7.5 Million Sponsorship from EUROMATCH

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has secured a new title sponsorship deal worth $7.5 million with EUROMATCH, announced in Abuja. Under this three-year agreement, valued at $2.5 million per season, NPFL clubs will receive 60% of the proceeds, which is intended to enhance players' wages and welfare ahead of the 2026/27 season.

NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye emphasized that the funds must be reflected in improved welfare for players, stating, “This must be reflected in the welfare of the footballers.” Former Minister of Sports Sunday Dare praised the sponsorship as a sign of progress in Nigeria's sports-as-business policy, while NFF president Ibrahim Gusau called it a significant boost for Nigerian football. EUROMATCH Group chairman Sadi Semih described the partnership as a strategic investment aimed at increasing the NPFL’s international visibility.

The NPFL is also increasing financial incentives for clubs, with the 2026/27 champions expected to receive a record ₦1 billion prize.
