NPFL Chairman Announces New Title Sponsor and Funding

During the 2026 Annual General Meeting held in Ibadan on August 7, 2026, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye, the Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), announced that a new title sponsor will be unveiled before the commencement of the 2026/27 season. He expressed confidence that discussions regarding the sponsorship have reached an advanced stage and that the partnership will provide additional financial benefits to participating clubs.

The announcement includes a commitment of $7.5 million for the next three seasons, generating optimism among club owners and stakeholders for stronger commercial investment in the league. This financial boost is expected to enhance clubs' financial capacity, improve player welfare, and create better opportunities for all stakeholders involved in Nigerian football.

Elegbeleye emphasized a system-first approach, aiming to strengthen the NPFL's structure and ensure that benefits are shared across the football ecosystem, ultimately leading to a more competitive league.
