NPFL Fines Warri Wolves N2 Million for Security Breach

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has imposed a fine of N2 million on Warri Wolves for breaching the league's framework rules during their match against Plateau United on May 3, 2026. The club failed to ensure adequate security, which allowed unauthorized individuals to access restricted areas.

Additionally, the supporters of Warri Wolves exhibited unsporting behavior that could potentially bring the game into disrepute. This misconduct resulted in a 10-minute delay in the match.

The breakdown of the fine includes N1 million for failing to provide effective security and N3 million for the gross misconduct of the club's supporters towards match officials. Furthermore, Warri Wolves will play their upcoming home matches behind closed doors, and they are required to apprehend and prosecute the individuals responsible for the incidents, submitting evidence to the NPFL within 48 hours of the notice of the sanction.
