NPFL Fines Warri Wolves N2 Million for Security Breach

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has imposed a fine of N2 million on Warri Wolves for violations during their match against Plateau United on May 3, 2026. The club was found to have failed in providing adequate security, which allowed unauthorized individuals to access restricted areas.

This breach contributed to unsporting behavior that could bring the game into disrepute. Additionally, the match experienced a 10-minute delay due to gross misconduct by the club's supporters towards match officials.

As a result, Warri Wolves will pay a fine of N1 million for the inadequate security and N3 million for the gross misconduct. The club will also play its remaining home matches behind closed doors and is required to apprehend and prosecute the individuals responsible for the incidents, submitting evidence to the NPFL within 48 hours of the notice to appeal the sanctions.
