Kano Pillars' Appeal Rejected; Three Points Deducted

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appeal committee upheld the sanctions against Kano Pillars, which included a three-point deduction and a fine of N9.5 million. This decision was reached during a Zoom meeting on Friday.

The penalties were imposed due to serious regulatory breaches, including crowd disturbances and assaults on match officials during a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture against Shooting Stars. The incident occurred during the first half of the match at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

Additionally, the NFF ordered the indefinite closure of the stadium as part of the sanctions. Kano Pillars had attempted to overturn the penalties but their appeal was unsuccessful, and the committee's review of the club's protest confirmed the original decision.
