Kano Pillars FC Loses Appeal Over Points Deduction

Kano Pillars FC, a former Nigerian champion, has failed in its bid to overturn a three-point and three-goal deduction imposed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appeal committee. The sanctions were upheld following crowd disturbances recorded during the club's home fixture against Shooting Stars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on October 8, 2025.

The NFF's disciplinary body cited serious regulatory violations, including the assault of match officials, as justification for the penalties. In addition to the point and goal deductions, Kano Pillars was fined a total of 9.5 million Naira and ordered to close their stadium indefinitely.

This situation places the club in a challenging position as they continue to battle against relegation in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
