NPFL Fines Kano Pillars N15 Million for Violent Conduct

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a fine of N15 million on Kano Pillars for violent conduct during a match against Rivers United, where they lost 2-1 at Sani Abacha Stadium. The fine is a result of multiple breaches of the NPFL framework, including unauthorized access to restricted areas and failure to ensure proper conduct, which led to harassment and intimidation of match officials.

Specifically, Kano Pillars has been fined N3 million for the initial breach, an additional N3 million for repeated gross misconduct towards match officials, and N2 million for disrupting the match, which resulted in the central referee stopping play. Following these incidents, Kano Pillars will be required to play their next fixture behind closed doors.

The club has 48 hours from the date of notice to appeal the sanctions imposed by the NPFL.
