NRC Commences Safety Assessment of Abuja-Kaduna Rail for Resumption.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has initiated a safety assessment of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line starting on September 24. This assessment aims to ensure the corridor meets the highest safety standards following a recent train derailment on August 26.

NRC Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, confirmed that a team of engineers has been evaluating the repaired sections and critical infrastructure along the route. The corporation is focused on resuming operations safely, with the first line already repaired and operational while the second line undergoes necessary repairs.

Safety remains a top priority for NRC, emphasizing the importance of thorough inspections before resuming full operations.
