NSC and ABBFN Partner to Enhance Bodybuilding in Nigeria

The Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Malam Shehu Dikko, has announced a partnership with the Amateur Bodybuilding Federation of Nigeria (ABBFN), headed by President Mr. Soy Elekima, to regulate gyms and boost talent development nationwide.

This collaboration was revealed during a courtesy visit in Abuja. The NSC aims to enhance talent identification, training facilities, and competition standards across all levels of the sport.

Dikko emphasized the importance of regulating gyms to prevent mishaps and ensure certified instructors. The NSC will support various programs, including the "Shape Up Nigeria 30-30 Fit Challenge," aimed at reducing non-communicable diseases and promoting healthier lifestyles.

The partnership will also focus on organizing championships and workshops to develop athletes aged six to 21, alongside building coaching capacities. Elekima expressed gratitude for the NSC's support and highlighted plans to host major international events, which could boost Nigeria's economy and attract global investments in the fitness industry.
