NSSF Enhances School Sports Leadership in Lagos Seminar

The Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF) held its annual administrative seminar in Lagos over the weekend, bringing together state coordinators from across the country. The seminar aimed to build capacity and align practices with global best standards in school sports management.

The theme focused on enhancing the effectiveness of school sports leadership through interactive sessions, featuring lectures and knowledge sharing. Professor Macpherson Akindel Ogunsemor from the University of Lagos emphasized the critical role of coordinators in grassroots talent identification and urged collaboration among coaches and physical education teachers.

Dr. Oluyomi Oluwasanmi, Director of School Sports at the Lagos State Sports Commission, highlighted the importance of structured reporting to plan and identify successes and shortcomings for continuous improvement. NSSF President Olabisi Joseph reaffirmed the federation's commitment to empowering coordinators and keeping them updated with evolving practices in school sports management.

The seminar, which has been held for seven years, has significantly improved the development of school sports administration in Nigeria.
