NSC Supports Inaugural NESI Games in Abuja, 2026

The National Sports Council (NSC), chaired by Dr. Shehu Dikko, has committed to providing technical support for the first Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) Games, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dr. Anthony Obiora, chairman of the NESI Games Steering Committee, stated that the event aims to promote workforce development and leadership within the Nigerian sports sector.

The NESI Games will feature nine sports, including football, athletics, volleyball, and e-sports, with participants drawn from the NESI ecosystem. The event is scheduled to take place from November 15 to 20, 2026, at the National Stadium in Abuja.

Dikko urged the steering committee to enhance sports facilities and encourage member contributions to community development. Obiora expressed confidence in the event's success, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder support, and noted that this initiative represents a significant step towards promoting sports development in Nigeria.
