NSC Supports NESI Games for Workforce Development

The National Sports Council (NSC), chaired by Dr. Shehu Dikko, has committed to providing technical support for the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) Games, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dr. Anthony Obiora, chairman of the NESI Week Steering Committee, highlighted that the NESI Games will be the first national structured sports event for the Nigerian electricity supply industry, aimed at promoting workforce development and leadership within the sector.

The games will feature nine sports, including football, athletics, volleyball, and e-sports, with athletes drawn from the NESI ecosystem. Scheduled to take place from November 15 to 20, 2026, at the National Stadium in Abuja, Dikko urged the steering committee to enhance sports facilities and encourage community contributions.

Obiora expressed confidence in the event's success, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder support, which is expected to boost the NESI Games and showcase talent within the industry.
