NSCDC Deploys 20,850 Personnel For Saturday’s By-Elections

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 20,850 personnel for the upcoming by-elections scheduled for Saturday. The NSCDC Public Relations Officer announced the deployment in Abuja, stating that the personnel have been mobilized to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

The officers will be responsible for safeguarding election materials, protecting officials, and monitoring the exercise in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force. The by-elections, to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will take place in Anambra, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ogun, Oyo, Taraba, Kogi, Kano, and Niger states.

The NSCDC Commandant directed the state officers to maintain professionalism, respect citizens' rights, and ensure a peaceful electoral process. Eligible voters were also encouraged to participate in the exercise.
