NSCDC Exonerates Mining Commander, Dismisses Two Personnel

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) exonerated Mining Marshals Commander, Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) John Onoja, regarding allegations of his team's involvement in the diversion of N2 billion and the cover-up of the death of personnel Levi Agada in Nasarawa State. NSCDC Commandant General Ahmed Audi announced the dismissal of two personnel for firearms proliferation, stating their actions contradicted established guidelines and constituted grave misconduct.

The dismissals were based on a recommendation for prosecution following an operational incident on February 18, 2026, which resulted in Agada's death. Audi, represented by NSCDC Spokesperson Babawale Afolabi, confirmed that comprehensive investigations cleared Onoja and other management team members of complicity, deeming allegations against them false.

The investigations found no evidence of premeditated intent against Agada. The two dismissed personnel were part of 37 recently removed from the corps, with an additional 42 sanctioned for various offenses.
