NSCDC Rescues 15 Trafficked Children, Arrests Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully rescued 15 trafficked minors and arrested individuals involved in child trafficking and illegal arms sales. The operations were conducted by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad under a zero-tolerance policy on crime and corruption.

A syndicate led by Anderson Archibong, who posed as an NGO official, was uncovered, revealing that 16 children were fraudulently taken and sold for N2,000,000 each. The NSCDC managed to rescue 15 of these children across Anambra, Imo, and Enugu states.

Three buyers were arrested and confessed to their involvement. Additionally, internal investigations within the NSCDC led to the arrest of CAII Igah Ameh James for stealing and selling an AK-47 rifle.

Two other officers, ASCI Peter Ardo and CCA Boniface B. Lawyer, were arrested for selling unserviceable rifles.

The NSCDC also dismantled a telecommunications vandalism network in Delta and Kano states.
