NSCDC Discovers Illegal Crude Oil Dump in Rivers State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Rivers State Command uncovered a vast illegal crude oil dump site in the Ikwerr Local Government Area, specifically in Igwuruta, on Thursday. This discovery followed several days of credible intelligence gathering, leading to a swift raid on the crime scene.

Dr. Joachin Okafor, the NSCDC spokesperson, visited the site to assess the situation and reiterated the organization's zero-tolerance policy towards illegal bunkering activities.

He warned that the NSCDC would leave no stone unturned in tracking and arresting perpetrators, regardless of their status. The command highlighted the adverse effects of such illegal activities on the economy and the environment, urging vandals to steer clear of Rivers State as they would face the full wrath of the law.

Additionally, the NSCDC directed its intelligence department to launch a comprehensive investigation to unravel the sources and individuals behind the crime, with the possibility of arrests and prosecutions.
