NSE Advocates for Electoral Transparency and Infrastructure Growth

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), led by President Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, has called for enhanced electoral transparency and infrastructure growth in Nigeria. In a statement issued on February 7, 2026, following a resolution by the National Assembly regarding electronic transmission of election results, NSE emphasized the need for public confidence in the electoral system.

NSE wrote an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, urging the Federal Government to appoint a Nigerian power engineer to lead the newly inaugurated grid asset management company, Gamco. The society reaffirmed its commitment to support government initiatives through technical expertise in engineering project evaluations.

Additionally, NSE announced the establishment of its 94th branch during its 466th session on March 12, 2026, and is actively participating in the 2026 World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development. The society is also reviewing its fellowship admission process and has temporarily closed its fellowship portal for new applications pending the review's conclusion.
